In case you haven't heard, Russ Roberts and Daniel Klein over at Econtalk are doing a bookclub series of podcasts covering Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments. For anyone who has yet to have the pleasure of reading this text, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. You can find an overview podcast here, where Klein and Roberts discuss general themes in the book such as Smith's conception of man, the nature of man's sympathies, and thoughts on justice. They will do podcasts covering sections of text beginning tomorrow with Part I. A free online copy of the text is available here or you can purchase your own through Liberty Fund here.
I find this book the most facinating insight into causal forces driving man's actions. This text directly influences some of the research projects I am personally pursuing, and I am looking forward to reading along with Russ and Dan.
