File this under...redistribution happens

Some of the impact from the stimulus checks is starting to trickle in; you wouldn't believe it, but when you redistribute money from higher incomes to lower incomes, places that serve the lower income folk do better and places that serve the higher income folk do worse.

Wal-Mart? Up. Costco? Up.

Victoria's Secret? Down. Bath and Body Works? Down.

Your federal government: Picking winners and losers since 1789!

You would actually think that places that make lower income people feel more affluent such as Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works would get a little more business because people would think they could spring for that $20 bra or $15 soap.
